Common Questions about Vacation Rental Homes
Once I have found the home I want, how do I confirm my dates?
Dates are only confirmed by making a payment. Depending on how far out your arrival date is payments are made in either two or three installments. The initial payment confirms the date. Payments are made online through VRBO.com. They accept MasterCard, Visa, and Discover. E-checks are also an acceptable form of payment. |

I'm reading a lot about sound and parties. Is it really that serious?
YES. Each of these homes are in residential neighborhoods and we expect each of my guests to live in the homes accordingly. Remember that the neighbors are not on vacation and don't necessarily want to hear you on vacation. In some cases, these homes are in exclusive neighborhoods and those homeowners have paid millions of dollars to ensure their peace and quiet. Actually, the City of Palm Springs has very strict sound ordinances that govern vacation rentals specifically. Here is a copy of the Good Neighbor Policy. You'll see that, per city law, vacation rentals are prevented from having amplified sound outdoors at any time. People noise during the day is perfectly acceptable, but as the day draws to an end it should be curtailed. After 9 pm, it should stop. If you do enjoy the pool in the evening, remember voices carry! If this concerns you, please contact me directly and do not book before we speak. We can appreciate concerns and will honestly tell you should I feel a house is not the right fit for your vacation needs. I'd rather you know before booking than arrive and be disappointed! So, we do take this seriously: remember that homes are only able to rent via permit from the city. If there are too many complaints, there are big fines and ultimately, the permit can be revoked. That's too much a risk not to take seriously. |

I want to bring a dog. Can I?
Most homes allow pets, some don't. Every home requires advance approval. If we don't know a dog is coming, we can't properly warn you of concerns regarding gates, street access and more. We also consider how many dogs, their size and even warn you if the neighbors have dogs (so as to prevent barking contests). In most cases, dog(s) are perfectly welcome. The often enjoy the homes as much as you do. But, please ask first. |

How will I get the keys and access to the home?
we will meet you at the home. Prior to arrival, we will have arranged a time to meet at the home. You will be given the keys to the home along with any other items (like garage clickers if applicable) and a quick tour. You'll be shown how to work the TV, sound systems, Wi-Fi, etc. If the home has a hot tub, you'll be shown how to turn that on, too. Once you feel comfortable in the home and all your questions are answered, we'll leave you to enjoy the home. Remember we're never far away to further help you enjoy yourselves. You should never feel like you are being left alone to figure things out. |

What time is check-in and check-out?
Check-in is after 2 pm. Sometimes, provided the home is ready, we can get you in the home earlier. Sometimes, if housekeeping is still working, we may not be able to get you in until 3 pm. Before you arrive, we will have worked out and set an expectation. Check-out is at 10:00 am or earlier. We meet you at the home for check-out to get the keys back and make sure you were satisfied. Sometimes we can let you stay later. Sometimes, if new guests are coming in the same afternoon you leave, check-out will be promptly at 10 am (or before). Certainly a day before departure, we will have worked out a suitable time. |

What is PDP? What is the security deposit for?
PDP stands for Property Damage Protection. It is damage insurance policy offered through CSA, a third-party vendor. Each home requires a PDP policy to rent it. This policy covers accidental damage caused during your stay. It allows me to replace certain items without inconveniencing the guest after departure. The security deposit covers items that are not protected under the PDP policy. While rare, City sound ordinance violations are not covered by the PDP and will be leveraged against your security deposit. Also rare, excessive cleaning charges, furniture re-arrangement, etc. will need to be processed and they are not covered by the PDP. Please ask about any of these matters. |
