Dining

Dining can be an important part of your time here in Palm Springs. I am careful to select restaurants that I trust to be dependable in both service and food quality. These restaurants range in prices. I always encourage you to call ahead and make sure a table is available and confirm their hours. If you find a restaurant you enjoyed and it wasn't on my list, please let me know. I'm always looking for new places to enjoy for myself, my friends and, ultimately, new places to share with my guests. I have plenty more beyond this. If you are craving something in particular, call or text me. I'll get you where you need to go. And, it will be where I go, where my friends go. NOT where the tourist go.

My friends and I eat here often and we have never, NEVER had a bad meal or bad service. When I know I`m going, I immediately start thinking of the Crawfish Pot Pie or the Pot Roast... or the Pork Chop... My friends enjoy the ribs. Start with the potato chips. Visit them and tell them Scott at Relax Palm Springs sent you.

Jake`s

Jake`s

I refer this restaurant to every guest and Jake`s has always satisfied every diner I`ve sent them. During the day, it`s a wonderful patio for a light lunch. In the evening, it turns a bit more elegant, more romantic but it`s always casual; never stuffy. I`ve had the Lobster Tempura, the Hangar Steak. A guest who I sent there talked about the Steak Wedge for three days! Visit them and tell Scott at Relax Palm Springs sent you.

I tell every guest, if this is their first time to Palm Springs, that there are two "must eats". This is one of them. Go. You`ll be in for a wait. Take a book, talk to passers by. Just go. A casual, food-centered menu that is as fresh as you can get. The had me at Bacon Flight. Blondie`s Eggs Bendedict is my go to order.

Tyler`s

Tyler`s

When guests visit Palm Springs for the first time, I have two "must eats". This is one of them. They are only open for lunch. They only accept cash. They have a very small menu. What they do, they do exceptionally well. They are known for their hamburgers. Their burgers are practically as iconic as Palm Springs itself. They put something in the potato salad that makes you crave it beyond what`s ordinary to crave. It`s right in the middle of downtown so it`s perfect to eat and then walk around for shopping.

Workshop Kitchen + Bar

Workshop Kitchen + Bar

This place is beautiful! Gorgeous design, a wonderful patio for outdoor dining and food to match high expectaions. The menu is devided into "smalls", "bowls" and "plates". Plates are more of entee-sized portions. Smalls and bowls were really meant to be shared. Our group has always favored the smalls and everyone gets to enjoy more bites of everything. However, the ribeye steak (for two) is divine! Check out their bar menu, too. Craft cocktails you`ll only find there! Be certain to make reservations.

Rooster and the Pig

Rooster and the Pig

This is a small restaurant hidden in the corner of a little strip mall. Find it. Every plate is unique and sharable. For a date, 2 appetizers and 1 entree is perfect. The owner has a wonderful interpretation of Vietnamese food and it`s been a pleasure eating here every time!

Copley`s on Palm Canyon

Copley`s on Palm Canyon

This is always on my list when I recommend dinner places. Formerly the Cary Grant Estate, this is quintessential Palm Springs and with a wonder chef. It`s food you`ll only find here in Palm Springs. They have these Ahi tacos for appetizers: YUM! There`s usually a creme brulee on the menu for desert and I always, always have it! Reservations are always a good thing here.

Spencer`s

Spencer`s

Tucked away behind downtown, this place is awesome! It`s got a romantic patio, ideal for Palm Springs outdoor dining, and stunning views of the mountains it sits right at the base of. Popular for lunch and dinner... but, I usually enjoy brunch at Spencer`s. It always delivers!

El Mirasol @ Los Arboles

El Mirasol @ Los Arboles

A great spot when you are looking to take a break from all that`s happening around you. You walk directly into the main courtyard, which is the dining area for El Mirasol @ Los Arboles. This Secret Garden`s Uptown location makes it a great stop for lunch after a day of shopping or unwinding with a margarita after a day by the pool. Heaters and misting fans take the edge off each end of our weather extremes, but don`t worry, they do have indoor seating if the elements are too much.

El Mirasol South

El Mirasol South

The Original El Mirasol and a local favorite. Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights might have you waiting a bit, but grab a margarita at the bar and the wait is never as bad after a few sips. What becomes a bit more difficult is deciding between the mole, pipian, chile rojo, or chile verde.

First, you might think this place is all about the patio. You`d almost be right. The patio is gorgeous with awesome energy. But then you get the food. WOW. They have this appetizer, The Stefana, which is simple vegetables with fresh, hand-made burrata cheese. So freaking awesome. The pork saltimbocca is wonderful. If it`s on the menu, I always get the orchietti pasta with sausage and rabe. It`s such a wonderful place; one you`ll only enjoy here in Palm Springs.

A great place for locals and tourists alike. Chef driven menu but not stuffy at all. They are known for their schnitzel menu but I`ve had everything else and never had a bad meal. I love their escargot; the lamb and the scallops will never disappoint. In high season, I strongly recommend reservations but certainly try without a reservation if you didn`t plan. Certainly worth trying.
