Description
The Mid Mod is a classic Mid Century Modern home built in 1959 by the Alexander Company working with the well-known architecture firm, Palmer & Krisel. This duo, notorious for creating homes with whimsical rooflines and bringing the outside in with floor-to-ceiling and clerestory windows, brought the same modern design to the houses on George Drive.
Situated in Racquet Club Road Estates, The Mid Mod sits only one mile north of downtown Palm Springs. The well-designed great room includes an updated kitchen with high end appliances, dining space for eight, and a lounge area that includes a large TV, sound bar, and sinus stereo speakers, as well as vintage stereo equipment to enjoy vinyl!
The open floor plan of the living-dining-kitchen areas allow guests to enjoy a view of the San Jacinto mountains from the kitchen island or from the well-appointed outdoor living space. A heated pool, hot tub, fire pit, outdoor kitchen, and dining are all available for guests’ use within the privacy of the walled backyard.

The Space:The main house has 3 bedrooms and 2 baths and the detached Casita contains a 4th bedroom with 2 beds, full bathroom and a second small kitchen.

Racquet Club Estates is a premier neighborhood of Palm Springs. The neighborhood is rich with architecture and history. It should be noted the city has sound ordinances that are strictly enforced. The owner(s) like to stress this home is ideal for a dream vacation and relaxation but is by no means a “party-central” home. Each guest is expected to be as good a neighbor as the owner(s) themselves. Special events like weddings are NOT allowed.

I had the BEST time during my stay at The MidMod! This is the perfect getaway when you're looking for some peace and quiet while still only being a short 5 minute drive to downtown Palm Springs. This place really has it all - comfortable beds, outdoor grill (and bar), pool, hot tub, infrared sauna, fire pit, and tons of mid century modern charm! I won't stay anywhere else when I'm in Palm Springs - can't wait to go back!

Great place to stay during mid century modern week 2023. Convenient location to downtown. Comfy beds, clean, well-equipped kitchen. The view from the pool is spectacular. The casita was perfect for extra privacy. The decor and artwork brought back the 60s-70s vibe but it was the original vinyls played on the turntable that settled it for us. We'll be back!

The pictures do not do this home justice. It is much nicer than the pictures portray. The home is well stocked with everything you could ever need. The management team was very responsive with the few questions we had. We would definitely stay here again in the future! I titled this review hummingbird hideaway as everyday while we relaxed with drinks by the pool lots of hummingbirds visited all the flowering vines along the fence.

Great place for 8 girlfriends to hang out for a long weekend and enjoy some sun! All of the different places to sit outside made for plenty of space to socialize, read, and zone out if needed. We used the outdoor dining table for every meal, and the kitchen was great for team dinner prep. Comfortable beds, fun decor. The only complaint from our group was that the icemaker in the casita was loud at night, and the outdoor furniture could have used a wipe down before we arrived. Otherwise communication was excellent.

Great place. Just stayed here for 4 days with 8 people and we were comfortable. Place is just like the pictures. 3 bedrooms in main house with one primary that has king and bathroom and 2 smaller bedrooms with queen and shared bathroom in hallway. Casita has 2 queens and a full bath. There are floats there and corn hole as well that you can set up. Check in was automated and we did a phone walk through. No issues, great place!

WOW! What a place! It was even more than what I expected. First, the check-in process was fast and easy. The communication between Relax and us was awesome. They responded to questions quickly. The house is where it's at! This house was absolutely perfect for me and my friends. It has lots of usable and fun outdoor space. We really enjoyed the pool and jacuzzi, and my dog loved chasing lizards all day long. The kitchen is well appointed with the basics. The beds and bedding were very comfortable. And the best part of the house was the turntable. My friends and I are big music buffs. Having old records to play was super fun for all of us. The living room is very comfortable and we had a blast watching movies, as well. All in all, we can't wait to return to enjoy all this house has to offer. You won't be disappointed!

Fun House - Great Week
We had a great time in Palm Springs. The house was clean and just as described. It worked very well for our family of 4 and my mother. The property managers were very helpful and responsive. The owner has an incredible record collection that he shares with the guests. The separate casita was a nice bonus space for us. It has a desk and allowed my husband a convenient and private work space. We enjoyed a day at Joshua Tree (short drive), and several local hikes. The outdoor spaces are wonderful and relaxing. The grocery store is super close, and downtown Palm Springs (shopping and restaurants is nearby as well). We would definitely rent this home again and work with Relax Palm Springs rentals in the future.
